Okanagan Country, B.C.
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is excited about setting up shop in Kelowna to service Okanagan Country.
Okanagan Country, is the region located in British Columbia defined by the basin of Okanagan Lake and the Canadian portion of the Okanagan River. As of 2011, the region’s population was approximately 341,818. The primary city is Kelowna. The region is known for its dry, sunny climate, dry landscapes and lakeshore communities and particular lifestyle. The economy is retirement and commercial-recreation based, with outdoor activities such as boating and watersports, snow skiing and hiking. Agriculture has been focused primarily on fruit orchards, with a recent shift in focus to vineyards and wine.
Kelowna is the largest city in the Okanagan Valley. It serves as the head office of the Regional District of Central Okanagan. Kelowna is the third largest metropolitan area in the province and ranks as the 22nd largest in Canada, with a population of 179,839 in 2011 making it the largest inland city in BC.
With scenic lake vistas and a dry, mild climate, Kelowna has become one of the fastest growing cities in North America Nearby communities include the district municipality of West Kelowna across Okanagan Lake, Lake Country and Vernon to the north, as well as Peachland to the southwest and, further to the south, Summerland and Penticton.
The Okanagan Mainline Real Estate board reported in September 2015 that the real market in the Okanagan is hot and that total residential sales on a year-to-date basis have improved by 5.4 per cent compared to 2014 (6,407 units from 6,077). Residential sales translate to opportunity for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®. We plan to service all major markets in BC and become the system of choice for moving and storage services.
